TOUR OF SKIDMORE COLLEGE SOLAR PHOTOVOLTAIC ARRAY AND NETWORKING
Tuesday, June 23, 2015
Rain or Shine!
4:30 – 7:30 pm
Join us for this combined field trip event with the Capital District Albany Energy Engineers. Time permitting we will also tour Skidmore’s Geothermal Facility.
One of the largest solar arrays in New York State, the site contains 6,950 ground-mounted solar panels spanning eight acres of land owned by the college. The system will generate 2.6 million kilowatt hours of electricity annually, enough to meet 12 percent of Skidmore’s needs and reduce greenhouse gas emissions by the equivalent of taking 412 cars off the road each year.
Due to parking limitations at the Solar Array location on Denton Road, we will rendezvous at the Tang Museum & Gallery South Parking Lot to Carpool.
